Childhood Infections: Immunomics for Innovative Diagnostics and Individualized Treatment, 'CHILD-IMMUNOMICS
Grant amount: DKK 10.000.000
The CHILD-IMMUNOMICS project aims to improve the treatment of children with infections, reduce antibiotic use, and decrease hospitalizations. It will: 1) Study the immune system’s response to infections in 1,000 children using novel omics technologies to identify risk factors and understand disease development. 2) Develop advanced diagnostic tests to help doctors diagnose and tailor treatment quickly. 3) Investigate new immune-based treatments in nationwide trials that work alongside antibiotics to prevent complications.
The project can advance the management of childhood infections by offering better diagnostics and individualized treatment, thereby reducing unnecessary antibiotic use and hospitalizations.
