Leveraging artificial intelligence for pancreatic cancer diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment outcome prediction
Grant amount: DKK 7,879,373
Bulat Ibragimov says: “Pancreatic cancer is hard to diagnose in early stages and represents one of the leading causes of cancer-related death. Chemotherapy for such cancer has limited effect, and surgery has only modest success because the cancer often grows into the surrounding tissues, vessels, and lymph nodes. My project will develop novel imaging-based shape-guided AI methods to improve pancreatic cancer assessment, treatment planning, and treatment outcome modeling. The work will be done in collaboration with medical experts and clinicians at Rigshospitalet in Denmark and Stanford University’s medical school in the USA to ensure clinical relevance and impact on patient outcomes.”
